Podcasts and Audio Books

I really enjoy listening to podcasts and/or audio books while programming on the computer. One excellent site for podcasts is Decoder Ring Theatre (http://decoderring.libsyn.com/). They have two main series that they perform. The first one involves ‘Red Panda’, who is a Canadian Super Hero, and his side-kick the ‘Flying Squirrel’, who battle villains such as the ‘Mad Monkey’ and Nazis. He is somewhat akin to Batman, in that he creates a bunch of his own gadgets. I know that the names and some of the episodes are a little cheesy, but it is still an entertaining series.
The other major series is ‘Black Jack Justice’, which is an old-time radio detective show. This series is fantastic, especially the early episodes. He has a partner named Trixie Dixon, and their banter is hilarious. Later episodes can be a bit hit or miss, but I’m always looking forward to the next episode.
<p>They occasionally have other stories that run for brief period, like over the summer, including ‘Slick Bracer’ (another detective story) and ‘Deck Gibson’ (Sci-Fi story). Unfortunately, they are currently only releasing two new episodes a month (1st and the 15th), so you have to be patient. :-).
Another site that I like to go to is http://librivox.org/. They have free audio books that are in the public domain. They have a vast repository, and all their content is submitted by volunteers. Some books that I have really enjoyed are their ‘Short Science Fiction Collections’ (short stories from many different authors), the “Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas, books by Edgar Rice Burroughs (early sci-fi), and books by George MacDonald (influenced both C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien).
What sites and/or podcasts have you found, that you really enjoy?
