Apple’s Innovation Brings Change

Apple has been a very innovative company since the beginning and has set their standards high. Now they are beginning to effect the industries around them. Recently iTunes extended the listening time for most of their songs. Everyone knows of iTunes and iPods; soon everyone may know of iCloud. iCloud is going to be changing the way your music is stored and shared between your Apple devices. Want to download a new song, but put it on your macbook, iPhone, and iPad all at the same time? Now you can. Best part, it’s free. iCloud has actually caused those in charge of the music industry to start making some changes. Record companies are becoming less and less of the big dogs due to innovations similar to Apple’s. More power is being given to the publisher companies as the digital age is redefining how the music business is run.
The music industry isn’t all that Apple is effecting. Even Facebook is taking notice of Apple users and has said that they want to incorporate more of them. Facebook is currently working on an iPad app that is soon to be released. They are also working on a iPhone specific app.
Speaking of the iPad, everyone may remember when it first came out, it was announced that it would not support Adobe Flash. Instead it would support HTML5, which Apple believed to be the better of the two, and where things would be going in the future. Around that time, network sites with video streaming and sites like youtube began switching videos over to the HTML5 format. I point all of this out because Microsoft recently announced features of their new operating system, Windows 8. In it, a lot was mentioned about how it’s going to incorporate HTML5 and it never mentioned Adobe Flash once. Seems like Apple made the right call.
