Google+ The social network has been redesigned with 41 new features. The new image-focused design is more like Facebook and Pinterest. One of the new features is called Auto-Awesome (yes, it’s really called that) and can put together several pictures to create a panorama or GIF.
Google Maps A total rebuild from the ground up, including Google Earth and Street View baked into it, has happened according to Google. Not only is it looking better, with stunning Google imagery, but the new Google Maps is also giving more route options. It also will default to walking directions when a destination is only a few blocks away. It’s ok, you probably need to walk off that donut anyway.
Google Play Music All Access Take Google Music, and add Pandora capabilities and you have the new All Access. It has millions of songs in it’s on-demand subscription music service and you can play instantly, recommendations, charts and playlists, and instant radio stations. The Spotify competitor launches for $9.99 a month, comes with a free trial month, and sign-ups before June 30th get it for $7.99.
Speech Recognition Google is adding speech recognition capabilities to Chrome. All you will have to do is say, “Ok Google,” and ask your question. CNET’s website states: “Why it’s cool: Google’s cross-platform, cross-device expansion of its voice-search app can save you time looking up the weather, getting directions, and adding items to your calendar. On top of that, you get to sound like a normal human being when asking for what you want. So long as you have no qualms talking to inanimate objects, that is.”
Keep an eye out, there’s more to come!
